1 Scope of application of this privacy policy.
This Privacy Policy applies to websites and mobile applications operated by Echoo . For simplicity, we refer to all of these as our "Services" in this Privacy Policy. For greater clarity, we have added a link to this Privacy Policy on all applicable Services.
Information We Collect
We collect information generated when you use our services, such as access logs, and information from third parties. If you need more information, we will explain it in detail below.
2. Information You Provide to Us
You choose to provide us with certain information when you use our Services. This includes:
When you create an account, you provide us with at least some other basic details necessary for the Services to function properly, such as you may provide us with a photo and a personal description.
Once you complete your profile, you can share more information with us, such as your personality, lifestyle, interests and other details, as well as content such as photos and videos. To add certain content (such as pictures or videos), you may allow us to access your camera or photo album. Some of the information you choose to provide to us may be considered "special" or "sensitive" in certain jurisdictions, such as your racial or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, and religious beliefs. By choosing to provide this information, you consent to our processing of it.
When you subscribe to a Paid Service or make a purchase directly from us (rather than through a platform like iOS or Android), you provide us or our payment service provider with information such as your debit or credit card number or other financial information.
If you contact our customer service team, we collect the information you provide during your interaction. Sometimes, we monitor or record these interactions for training purposes and to ensure high quality service.
If you ask us to communicate with or otherwise process another person’s information (for example, if you ask us to send an email to one of your friends on your behalf), we collect the information you provide to us about that other person in order to fulfill your request.
As part of operating the Service, we also process the Content you Post.

Other users may provide information about you when they use our Services. For example, we may collect information about you from other users if they contact us about you.

We may receive information about you from our partners, for example when Echoo adverts are published on partners’ websites and platforms (in which case they may pass on details about the success of the campaign).

When you use our Services, we collect information about which features you have used, how you have used them, and which devices you use to access our Services. For more details, see below:
Usage Information
We collect information about your activities on our Services, such as how you use them (e.g., the date and time you logged in, the features you used, searches, clicks and pages displayed to you, referring web page addresses, ads you clicked on) and how you interact with other users (e.g., users you connect and interact with, times and dates of your communications).
Device Information
We collect information about the device you use to access our Services, including:
Hardware and software information, such as IP address, device ID and type, device-specific and application settings and characteristics, application crashes, advertising IDs (such as Google’s AAID and Apple’s IDFA, both of which are randomly generated numbers that you can reset by going to your device settings), browser type, version and language, operating system, time zone, identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that uniquely identify your device or browser (such as IMEI/UDID and MAC address);
Information about your wireless and mobile network connections, such as your service provider and signal strength.
3. Age
The Services are not directed to children or persons under the age of eighteen (18), and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children or persons under the age of eighteen (18) as part of the Services. However, we do collect information about your age to ensure that underage users do not become part of our platform, to maintain the security of our Services, and to help us maintain correct age profiles for our applications using third parties. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received or collected personally identifiable information from a user under the age of eighteen (18) during the course of the Services, we will delete such information from our records. If you are under the age of eighteen (18), please do not use the Services.
4. Purpose and use of personal information
We adopt the principle of data minimization when collecting and using your data and ensure that your data is only used for the purposes described below. We will only process your data to the extent relevant to the services and other relevant business purposes, including:
4.1 Provide you with services, including:
*Connect you with other users within the Application;
* Enable you to share your personal data with other users on the Application;
* Provide you with the video and audio calling functions of the application;
* Allows you to send images and videos through the application;
* Display to you the names of people you communicate with on the Application, and display your name to people you communicate with on the Application; and
* Provide you with certain features that the App may offer from time to time, such as our Premium Services (see our Terms of Use), playing games, and sharing/playing music during video calls.
* Convenient for you to contact us
* Connect with third parties to process payments
* To run analytics in order to provide you with better, more relevant connections, to provide you with more offers and to provide you with updates on our services.
4.2 Help us manage and maintain your account and user information on the App, including:
* Create and update your account;
* Send you any administrative notices, alerts and communications relevant to your use of the App.
* To facilitate communication opportunities through the Services and to provide you with location or interest information relevant to other users of the Applications.
* We use the information we have to develop, test and improve our services, including conducting surveys, compiling research, statistical and analytical analysis of users' habits and behaviors (e.g., transaction history, online interactions), and testing and troubleshooting new products and features.
* Process any payments for transactions conducted through the Services through a third-party provider.
* We use the information we hold to send you marketing information and notifications (including details of our membership loyalty program); and to communicate with you about our services and let you know about our policies and terms.
* When you contact us, we will also use your information to respond to you.
* Shared with third-party partners to fulfill our contractual obligations
4.3 Promote safety, integrity and security.
* We use the information we have to verify accounts and activity, combat harmful behavior, detect and prevent other bad experiences and illegal behavior, maintain the integrity of our services, and promote safety and security for audit, compliance, control, security and other risk management purposes. For example, we use a combination of automated detection technology and human review of the data we have to investigate suspicious activity or violations of our Terms of Use and policies (such as this Privacy Policy), and allow you to report and contact us if you have any questions.
4.4 For business administration purposes, including data and records management:
* To establish, exercise and/or defend our legal rights.
* Comply with our legal, regulatory and reporting requirements to regulators.
* Ensure user safety through content review.
* In connection with a corporate transaction involving Echoo, such as the purchase or sale of a business unit, acquisition, merger, sale of assets or other similar event.
* To enable us to provide services and contractual commitments to you.
4.5 Information in our Services:
* We connect information about you and your activities on Echoo with other apps and services we offer in order to provide you with a broad and interesting experience and to provide you with a more tailored and consistent experience with our services.
4.6.System permissions called by Echoo
We may need to use the system permissions in your device (excluding permissions called by third parties) to collect relevant personal information. This section will summarize all system permissions used by Echoo to facilitate a more systematic, complete and transparent presentation to you. You can choose whether to authorize us to use the relevant permissions of your device. If you do not authorize us to use the relevant permissions, some services may not be available, but it will not affect your use of other functions. ‘
Microphone permissions
When you agree to enable this permission, we will use the microphone function on your device and recognize the voice information you upload. This permission will be used to implement voice input and voice change functions, and collect and recognize the voice information input during the implementation of the above functions. If you refuse this authorization, the aforementioned functions will not be available.
Message push permissions
When you agree to enable this permission, we will push messages to you so that you can receive and understand the notifications we send in a timely manner. If you refuse this authorization, you will not be able to receive the messages we push to you.
Camera permissions
When you agree to enable this permission, we will use the camera shooting function on your device. This function will be used to realize the photo shooting and video recording functions, and to collect and identify the pictures and video information taken or recorded during the implementation of the above functions. If you refuse this authorization, the above functions will not be available.
Album and storage permissions
When you agree to enable this permission, we will use the album reading and storage functions on your device. This function will be used to upload text, images, videos and other content in your device for you, and can also cache the text, images, and video content generated during your use of Echoo products or services. Please be aware that we will not automatically read the storage content of your local album. We will only obtain the picture/video data after you agree to enable this permission and actively select the corresponding picture in the album. If you refuse this authorization, the above functions will not work properly.
Device information access rights
When you agree to enable this permission, in order to protect your account and login security, we will collect your corresponding device information for optimizing user experience, security troubleshooting, identifying whether it is a commonly used device, and device binding status. If you are an Android system user, your refusal to grant this authorization will result in your inability to use this product and/or service normally. If you are an iOS user, you may not be able to directly refuse or close the above authorization due to iOS system restrictions. However, for some device information (e.g. IDFA information, which is subject to the actual situation updated from time to time by iOS system policies), you can choose whether to authorize us to collect it. If you refuse to authorize, we may not be able to provide you with the corresponding functions or services (e.g., if you refuse us to collect your IDFA information, we will not be able to provide you with personalized display based on IDFA tracking identifiers).
Access to the network and obtaining network status permissions
Our APP can only connect to the Internet when you agree to enable this permission. At the same time, for the purpose of risk control and providing services, we can also monitor network changes and prompt users of the current network environment. Your refusal of this authorization will result in your inability to use this product and/or service normally.
5. Legal basis for processing your data
There are different legal bases for processing your data when you use our services. For these legal bases, we process your data based on one or more of the following bases.
* Necessary for the performance of our contract (Terms of Use with you)
* Legitimate Interests. When processing is necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by us or a third party, such as for fraud prevention, network and information security, or internal administration purposes, except where such interests are overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms which require protection of your personal information.
* Your consent. You have given us your consent to process your personal information for specific purposes, such as providing our services and other items you have requested.
* Compliance with law. Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation or requirement.
* It is necessary in the public interest and to protect your vital interests or those of others.
6. Sharing "Shared Information" with third-party partners
We provide information and content to affiliates, suppliers and service providers that support our business, such as providing technical infrastructure services, analyzing the use of our services, providing customer service, security services, facilitating payments, music sharing or conducting surveys. In order to provide you with services, your information may be disclosed or transferred to other users, our third-party partners for any of the above purposes, such as:
* Your publicly visible information and profile, which may include your Echoo ID, name, gender, region and photo, date of birth, interests, in-app music playlists, etc.;
* Any information you provide to other users or about you that other Echoo users provide;
* Any agents or contractors of us or any member, including IT companies, back-end service providers, payment service providers, data management and analysis services, data cleansing services that support our website and other business systems, and direct marketing companies and mailing companies that help us manage electronic and email communications with your consent;
* any relevant third parties, such as telecommunications operators, third party collection agencies, credit reference agencies, security agencies (including identity verification service providers), credit providers, banks, financial institutions (including any payment processors);
* any professional advisers (including our legal advisers and auditors);
* any regulator, law enforcement agency, court or other governmental body;
* and any actual or proposed assignee or transferee of any part of our business or operations.
7. Parties with whom you may choose to share your User Content
Any information or content that you voluntarily disclose or post on the App (such as your User Content) will be available to the public. Once you share or make such User Content public, others may view and re-share that content, and once it is public, it may be impossible to prevent the spread of that content.
Even if you delete any User Content you created or posted on the App (e.g., screenshots, etc.), copies of such User Content may remain accessible in cached and archived pages of the App, or if other users or third parties have copied or saved such information (e.g., using Facebook, etc.).
Any personally identifiable information you (i) share with other users of the App via text messages, photos, videos or other means; or (ii) submit via real-time messaging on the App may be viewed and used by others. Echoo is not responsible for any use or misuse of such information you share or submit.
8. Direct Marketing
If you opt-in to receive direct marketing from us via notifications, you agree that we may use your personally identifiable information to;
* send you direct marketing communications, such as information about Diamonds offers and the latest news, events, updates, offers, competitions and promotions related to our Services; or
* Analyze your preferences, online behavior and transaction history to gain insights so that we can provide you with customized updates, promotions, offers and services through our websites, our applications and our direct marketing communications, social media or other communications (such as emails).
We will always ask for your consent before providing you with direct marketing information. You can opt out of receiving such direct marketing information from us at any time. Please see the section below about your data protection rights.
9. Data access and deletion
You always have control over the information you share with us on the App (except for information we have indicated that you must provide). You can do this by changing the settings in the App or on your mobile device. Or, you can delete the App entirely from your mobile device.
You can choose to delete your data at any time. If you ask us to delete your account, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to delete your data from our servers, subject to any applicable legal or other requirements to retain certain records of your personally identifiable data. Please note that deleting your personally identifiable data from our databases may result in our inability to provide you with services.
10. Outbound Links
If you visit a website or application provided by a third party (including through an application or website), that third party may also collect information about you. We do not own or control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of third-party websites or applications. Please refer to each third party's privacy policy for more information about how they collect and use the information they collect about you. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any exchange of information between you and any such third parties.
11. How we protect your information
We work hard to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Like all technology companies, although we take steps to protect your information, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information will always remain secure.
We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks and periodically review our information collection, storage and processing practices to update our physical, technical and organizational security measures.
If we suspect or discover any security breach, we may suspend your access to all or part of the Services without prior notice. If you believe your account or information is no longer secure, please notify us immediately here
12. How long do we retain your information
We retain your personal information only for as long as it is needed for our legitimate business purposes (as described in Section 5) and as permitted by applicable law.
In practice, we will delete or anonymize your information when we delete your account, unless:
We must retain this information to comply with applicable law (for example, certain “traffic data” is retained for one year to comply with statutory data retention obligations);
We must retain it as evidence of our compliance with applicable law (e.g., records of consent to our Terms, Privacy Policy, and other similar consents);
There is an outstanding issue, claim, or dispute that requires us to retain the information until it is resolved; or
This information must be retained for our legitimate business interests, such as preventing fraud and enhancing the safety and security of our users. For example, it may be necessary to retain information to prevent users who have been banned due to unsafe behavior or security incidents from opening new accounts.
Please keep in mind that while our systems are designed to perform the data deletion process in accordance with the above guidelines, due to technical limitations we cannot guarantee that all data will be deleted within a specific time frame.

Echoo wants to ensure that you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Specifically, you have the following rights:

You have the right to obtain confirmation from Echoo as to whether your personal information is being processed and, if so, to request a copy of your personal information.
* Right to withdraw consent:
Your consent will provide the legal basis for Echoo to process your personal information. You can also withdraw your consent to processing.
* Right to rectification:
If you entered your age or gender incorrectly, we can help you. Please submit feedback within the app and we will process your request.
* Right to erasure:
In certain circumstances, you have the right to request the erasure of your personal information;
Please note that your right to erasure may be limited if the data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
* Right to restrict processing:
In certain circumstances, you have the right to object to and request restrictions on the processing of your personal information;
* Right to data portability:
the personal information you provide to Echoo in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and transmit such personal information from Echoo to another controller without hindrance from Echoo to which the personal information was provided, where:
* the processing is based on your consent; and
* Processing is carried out by automated means;
* Right to object:
You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal information on grounds relating to your particular situation.
Echoo will no longer process the Personal Information unless Echoo demonstrates compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims;
* Right to complain
If you breach any of this Agreement , you have the right to lodge a complaint with our Data Protection Officer (details below).
